1. INTRODUCTION/PURPOSE
During the strategic planning session and as part of the FY 17/18 budget, council approved funding for a site and facility needs assessment for a future facility.
2. DESCRIPTION/JUSTIFICATION
a) Background
Under Texas law, the City of Bee Cave must request qualifications from architectural firms interested in this project. Selection is not based on low bid or cost, but on the qualifications and experience of the firms competing. Although we have reduced the experience in construction of public safety facilities from our original RFQ presented to council, experience in public safety or local government buildings is important.
b) Issues and Analysis
The City of Bee Cave has two potential sites we would like to be reviewed and considered for this project with the study to provide a site analysis and approximate construction costs for each site. The object of this study is to assist in determining the options and positive and negatives for the City of Bee Cave with regards to each city owned site. Site analysis will include both developed and undeveloped options including budgets for each.
