1. INTRODUCTION/PURPOSE
Receive update and discuss report from Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) Subcommittee.
2. DESCRIPTION/JUSTIFICATION
a) Background
The Bee Cave Capital Improvement Plan was approved by City of Bee Cave City Council in 2021 and detailed the City’s Capital Improvement goals, infrastructure installation plans, and imminent developments. At the time of the CIP execution, three new city buildings, park improvements, trails, and roads were contemplated for design and construction. In the pursuit of increased collaboration from City Council, including early and clear communication, the CIP Committee (re:CIP Subcommittee, "CIPSUB") was formed. The CIP Committee consists of Mayor Kara King, and Councilmembers Kevin Hight and Andrea Willott, City Staff such as City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Finance Director and Parks & Recreation Director. This CIP Committee meets monthly with City of Bee Cave Program Management Consultants, Turner & Townsend Heery, concerning the current status of the active CIP projects, Public Library (BCPL), Public Safety (BCPS), and Central Park Improvements (BCCP). The committee was tasked with defining the City’s objectives, provide design input, and monitoring costs for two active projects: the Bee Cave Library and the Bee Cave Public Safety Building, additionally, the Bee Cave Central Park Improvement Project as that design process was initiated.
b) Issues and Analysis
The attached report and presentation today is intended to capture the total progress of the New Bee Cave Library planning, programming, design, budget & funding, and schedule.
