1. INTRODUCTION/PURPOSE
This ordinance is to update the city's administration and personnel section of the code of ordinances to align with current practice.
2. DESCRIPTION/JUSTIFICATION
a) Background
Since the City changed from a general law to a home rule municipality, the organizational structure has changed. This is an appropriate time to update the code of ordinances given the current changes in city staff and the organization.
b) Issues and Analysis
The position of City Engineer serves an important role and reports to the Director of Planning & Development services. This position has operated within this organizational structure for several years, however, the code had not yet been updated to reflect this operational practice.

Consider the removal of this section from the code of ordinances, to have the City Engineer be hired and removed by the City Manager, as any other employee of the City.
