1. INTRODUCTION/PURPOSE

Discussion and consideration of action on the adoption of 'Our Bee Cave 2037', the City's update to its comprehensive plan.

2. DESCRIPTION/JUSTIFICATION

a) Background

The City of Bee Cave embarked on an update to its Comprehensive Plan in June 2015.  The results of that effort, including a summary of the public engagement process, are presented in the proposed final plan, available here.

b) Issues and Analysis

On October 3, 2016, a joint meeting was held with members from the City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, Citizen Advisory Committee, and members of the public. This meeting provided an opportunity for a collective question and answer session ahead of the official public roll-out and kick-off of the formal adoption process. The input gleaned from the joint meeting was incorporated into the 'final draft',available here.

Following the joint meeting, and in preparation of the formal adoption process, the 'final draft' was posted on various websites for public comment: City of Bee Cave, OurBeeCave2037.com, and the plan's  Facebook page. Additionally, the 'final draft' was sent to each of the City of Bee Cave HOA presidents, and, at the request of staff, shared with their respective neighbors. Staff received four emails in response, all of which are attached.

The Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval at their 11/15/16 meeting.
